Permalink Fender 6g15 cap mod

New Topic

This has obviously been covered up and down on this forum but with all the talk about reverb units and mods to them, I finally got around to opening my reissue and doing the c10 cap mod.

The mod took a whole whopping 30 minutes to do including cleanup. I am asking myself why I did not do it a lot sooner. The cap value I used was the 500pf and it did make a difference. I would recommend for anyone thinking about doing this, just do it.

The tone is richer which is also do to the tubes upgrades. I get more of the vibe from it that was lacking before.

I ordered the cap from eBay and they sent me 2 caps. If anyone needs one send me a message with your address and I will send it out.
