Great trailer! Dying to see this. The Wrecking Crew is THEE MOST unsung SURF band! Although, I doubt they'll cover the Superstocks, T-Bones, Richie Allen, Hondells, Vettes, Buddies, The Ghouls, The Challengers, The Marketts, The Routers, Dick Dale, recordings etc, etc, etc, in this film, I really dig everything they did from Specter to Dean Martin, to Elvis, to Nancy Sinatra and The Monkees and so fourth. Hope it lives up to the hype!

I would love to see the movie!!
I read this book on the Crew recentlyThe Wrecking Crew: The Inside Story of Rock and Roll's Best-Kept Secret
Decent read and informative.
What I don't get is, where is the isn't LA industry support to get this done? So many high-profile actors who want to be rock stars...would think this would be a 'cool' project for some. Not to mention the film industry...does really have no chance of making a profit? Must be more to it...

So how many of our favorite Venture's tunes have lead guitar work from the Crew? That group is surprisingly undocumented (as is Dick Dale)...both deserve a well written, objective book.

You forgot to mention "Brian & his Beach Boys" (Carol Kaye always seems to bring up the Pet Sound sessions.) Top of the line musicians all of them, I gained alot of respect for Hal Blaine and Tommy Tedesco after seeing the movie. Amongst my personal favourite recordings done with members from the so called "crew" are David Axelrod's Song of Innocence & Songs of Experience . Recorded just after his Mass in F minor with The Eletric Prunes, also recorded by these session players.

No, that IS covered in the film from the looks of the trailer! Although, it's important to remember that the WC didn't play on every BB's track. People sometimes like to lay a big blanket on everything. The BB's did play on many of their classic tunes, especially pre and post Pet Sounds.

Listening to the isolated tracks on Pet Sounds is truly marvelous. A testament to Brian's writing and some untouchable musicianship.

Some very nice reminisces by Carol Kaye on Brian Wilson and studio session work here:
http://abbeyrd.best.vwh.net/carolkay.htm
It really gives a glimpse into how highly regarded Brian was. (is)

Denny Tedesco is going to be interviewed on Marc Maron's WTF podcast this coming Thursday.
For those of you unfamiliar, Marc has one of the most popular interview shows on iTunes. Mostly comedians, occasionally he branches out to musicians, filmmakers, writers and the odd psychiatrist now and then. His type of neurotic, personal humor really hits home with me. And he does seem to have a knack for getting subjects to really engage in interesting conversations.

Thanks for posting this Danny.
Tommy was such an inspiration to me with his adaptability, diversity and musicianship.

Massively yes.
Updated basic link: http://www.wreckingcrewfilm.com/index.php
And from the site:
"I am so proud to say, after 18 years in the making of the Wrecking Crew, Magnolia Pictures will be our distributor for the film. Their plan is to release the film in March 2015 for a small theatrical run and right after that be released on DVD and other formats."
This is like coming full circle as well given that Tommy's column in GP was pretty much the first thing I turned to back in the day.
YEAH!

Yes,
We attended a fund raiser for the movie here in Nashville last year and they screened it. The audience was a who's who of producers, engineers and musicians. Don't know why they let us in....LOL.
I had hope at the time that one of the wealthier musicians in town might step up and donate, get the film out but, who knows....
A really great film. If you love music and especially music from this era you'll love this film.
Tommy's son was there also doing a Q&A

Very neat Jeff. I'm not in the middle of nowhere but you can see it from here so not looking for a screening. This will be one of those watched again & again I suspect and I'll own it the moment it's available.
