I still have a soft spot for everything up to Justice too, but music feuds are kind of hilarious.

Ahhhh...it's always a breath of fresh air to see this thread come up again. Ivan, keep that anti-Metallica speak to yourself, please. Face Palm

I must admit, it took me awhile to warm up to A Matter of Life And Death and Brave New World, but after investing some concentrated listening on them, now I love and admire them greatly.

One of the many, many great things about Maiden is that the music has a different effect at different times of one's life. I have a whole new appreciation for albums I didn't care as much for previously, and visa versa. Seventh Son will always occupy a very special place for me, as it was the first tour I caught them live! Ah...memories Headbang

Very Happy Just having a bit of fun, don't take me seriously...

Good man! I would actually say that The Final Frontier is the best of the last four. I think a lot of people would pick Brave New World, or possibly A Matter of Life Or Death, and though I like those two quite a bit, I think The Final Frontier is more consistent and deeper than Brave New World, and more easily 'digestable' than AMOLAD, which I find a relentlessly dark album, just too much of a downer. Ryan, give it another shot, I really think it's worth it.

Here's hoping that Maiden soon give us #5 in the recent series - I'm definitely ready! (And it's been four years since The Final Frontier.)

Laughing Yeah, that Paul Di'anno is quite a tool, but the work he did with Maiden was amazing, really my favorite incarnation to be honest.

Even Ozzy's voice hasn't deteriorated as much as Di'Anno ... which is saying a lot.

Because why not:

Killers
s/t
Powerslave
Piece of Mind
The Number of the Beast
Somewhere in Time
(drop-off)
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Brave New World
A Matter of Life and Death
(drop-off)
Dance of Death
The Final Frontier
(huge drop-off)
Fear of the Dark
No Prayer of the Dying
(cataclysmic drop-off)
The X Factor
Virtual XI

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

This is very interesting, and pretty much right on, IMHO:

Aside from a few tweaks, my ordering would be pretty close to that too. I'm pleased to see mentions of underrated songs like Judas My Guide and Still Life, although I do quite like Wasted Love.
I almost defended the title track from No Prayer for the Dying as I remembered it being quite good, but I've just YouTubed it and - by God - that guitar solo is horrendous. From both of them. Janick's always had a bit of a reputation as being a sloppier player than the other two, but I couldn't tell which was Janick and which was Dave on that.

My love for Maiden grows exponentially by the day. I cannot stop listening. I think I'm addicted. Now go listen to "The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner" and your life will instantly be better.

The Rime is awsome. Sure Colridge would have loved this, it's so good in adding some new breath to a great lyrics
I always loved that Iron Maiden took some book or movie to cover in almost every album: Quest for fire, To tame a land, Edge of darkness, Falling down, Stranger in a Strangeland, etc and did it brilliantly
