Ralf, don't try to steal that from Latin America, Germany already has a bunch of super cool Surf bands, don`t be greedy. Wink

Ok. No problem.

So Wadadli Riders can`t enter in this top?
I mean, the vibe of the music is 100% Caribbean.
Just want to ask cause I was considering to put one of their tunes in my top.

The "vibe" does not really matter.
Otherwise "Sonido Amazonica" by The Phantom Four could also enter.
And some surfpunk tracks of Latin American bands could not.
It's about the roots of the band.
Wadadli Riders was an Italian band in Antigua like Los Twang! Marvels was a South American band in Germany.
On top of that Antigua is not a part of Latin America as it is a former English colony, just like Jamaica, Barbados etc.

I made a spotify playlist with all the brazilian surf instrumentals I could find. If someone need some inspiration, here it is:

(there may be a few vocals among them, sorry about that)

Coming up this weekend! Tune in to hear some of the most amazing Surf music on the planet...all from Latin American bands!!! Wow! Still pinching myself that NSSR exists!

Insect Surfers
The Tikiyaki Orchestra
The Scimitars
Lords Of Atlantis
Fiberglass Jungle - Surf Radio

Well. Maybe its ok for Ralf but not for me.

First, Niels, read my first post more exactly.

I never said they could not enter the Top 61 from Latin America
(That was your own error by naming this thread "Top 61 of tracks by bands from Latin America")
I just noted that it is simply wrong to call them a band from Latin America.

And very interesting for me to see that you are ignoring what the band wrote about their origin.
Let me repeat it: A surfband from Germany. source: their website.

Your statement is nothing more than your personal opinion.
Ok, its your radio show and you can bend the facts as you like it..
but its a fact that the Twang! Marvels decided to be a Surfband
from Germany.

Second: you wrote "..some Germans want to claim.."
beside the fact that this sounds for me a little condescending..
You are the one who tries to claim, and not some Germans.
Some Germans know that it was a German band.

By the way: Ralf and I are TWO Germans (and not some),
And you obviously forgot that some Germans got some names too?

Some Germans username is Teisco and the other some Germans name is Ralf.
Got it now?

Got it now?

Now that sounds a little condescending to me.

I don't like your tone and if you would know me you would never respond this way. You are taking this to a personal level and I am not going there.

Let's move this thread to what it is meant for; the music.
I hope you will be enjoying the shows and the list regardless.

Aaahhh! Help!!!

Come on Teisco, don`t use such offensive word choice against Niels.

I do NOT feel offended in any way by Niels! Why should I? I know Niels as person in real and he is such a nice guy!

Hey, it is such a little discussion, not worth to feel overheated.
There are different opinions and this is okay. People always have different opinions, and this is good. This keeps everything alive.
When I think about problems these days I think more about REAL problems like the stupid senseless aggressive terror acts in Paris or something…

As Niels said, let`s go back to talk about music here in this forum, about the shows at NSSR, new albums, nice bands, etc.

Twang cheers!
