The head is a Servicemen Solid State Twin Reverb rip off. And it is tube, but ripping off the Solid State.

I'm not sure that is a vaporizer or a matching cap, if it is they absolutely never use it and nobody has bought it. I've never actually seen it, always another amp covering it up and the head on top.

Bought a Squier Jaguar (Surf Green) a week or so ago.

I'm lucky to have a friend who is a guitar tech, so he stuck in a Mustang bridge, added some .11s and did a set-up for me.

I had rehearsal last night, so it was the first time I could really let go on it. We (The DB5s) are not a surf band by any stretch of the imagination; we play early to mid 60s stuff in the main. But occasionally, songs like Del Shannon's Runaway, and Presley's "Little Sister" had a surf feel or a twang involved.

Anyway, the guitar sounds fantastic! And plays very well too. Until now I have only been rhythm guitar with a few fills, but I am slowly getting a couple of lead-parts (notably "I Saw Her Standing There" - a lead I've always wanted to play)and now understand the term "it's a fast neck". It really does feel fast compared to my fake Rickenbacker 330 (which itself is a lovely sounding guitar).

Next up is to force the band to play a handful of instros. It will happen...

Is it naff to stick a miniature spaceship "Serenity" from the TV series Firefly on the tremolo arm???

Bought from my sister's boyfriend round about 1972-73 for $30. Horribly mistreated, painted it silver (it came with psycho-delic eyeballs all over it) blew the amp, did Pete Townsend antics and finally lost it to a store-front preacher who absconded with the guitar somewhere in the early 80's.

Now I am whole. And if I ever find that preacher let me tell you...

I'm on my third and final 1457. I had two that I sold years ago and then a few years later realized how much I missed them. I lucked out about 6 years ago and a friend's uncle had my current one for sale, cheap, out from under his bed. It needed cleaning and set up but it's almost mint and plays and sounds better than almost any other old Dano I've owned.

I went for 10 years without one and then happened upon a 90's version Hodad at a local Guitar Center. At that time I didn't even know what Danelectro was (even though I'd owned the Silvertone). There it was all alone; in Commie Red and I was just drawn to it. And then I held it by the neck and as the pickups registered on my orbs I nearly fainted with joy.

"My God!" I exclaimed, "You do indeed exist, and you play a Danelectro".

My fender jazzmaster with Seymour Duncan triple shot allows me to split my humbucker 5 different ways. Along with my nice fat neck pickup and eliminated preyed switching which I'll never use anyways... Fender blacktop jazzmaster. Although most look at it as a "for the money" guitar I would rather this over an American made one. It just fits my style of playing and looks sick on stage
