Oh Ted, why oh why?
If you can find in your area, try Zaya rum.
Here it's usualy 19 - 25 dollars.
Another good one is Zacappa. Usually 29.
But one of my favorites is El Dorado,
The 21 year is 95 to 105 dollars.
But the 15 year is pretty good and only
39 dollars.
That's what I used in my hot buttered rum the other night.
Yum!!!

I just checked TotalWine and BevMo and we can't buy either of these Georgia.
Thanks for protecting us from possibly superior and/or more affordable consumer options, government.

Richard, thy the smaller high end liquor stores.
Rum is always a bit harder to find the good stuff.
So many are used to going with Barcardi.

Hey Jeff, we actually legally cannot buy liquor from any maker that isn't distributed by one of the state governments' sanctioned distributors. So there are some things we simply cannot buy here or have shipped in.
We can get El Dorado. I've got some El Dorado Demerara 8 year and an assortment of other rums thanks to chasing ingredients for some the recipes in the Beach Bum Berry book. My cabinet is chock full. The hard thing about going through that book is that no matter what, pretty much every recipe calls for ingredients I don't have. I already feel like I've taken it to a pretty ridiculous level.
I do keep the regular Appleton Estate onhand at all times now. I'm slowly feeding the Sailor Jerry's to visitors that like it.

Ha ha ha, I hear that Sailor Jerry makes a good stain remover too.
sorry to hear about your restrictions of rum. Sounds like its time for a trip to Fl. or another state where you can buy the good stuff.

Yeah, Florida is actually a really good option for us. There's generally a lot more available there and my wife's parents are always going to the Total Wine in Jacksonville to stock up on whatever they want because it's significantly cheaper there than in GA (again, due to the government). I will add to their list next time.

I usually drink Zaya, Zacappa, Appleton, all the other usual suspects. I should have known since the crowd handler was $11.99

Anyone know a good dark rum recipe with coconut milk and lime? You tiki bums, this is your chance to preach!

Ok, no one helped me and I made a drink with Barbados dark rum, brown sugar, a lime, coconut milk and some orange juice, with nutmeg and allspice, over the rocks. My wife thought it was vile.

Tea.
And since I've been diagnosed as dairy intolerant, it's black tea. Kinda getting used to it now.
