The only thing that could have improved on Sunday's HB Pier gig was more
sunshine. It was truly a great day for great music.

The Plank-Shakers
started the lineup off with some fun tunes, especially some we haven't
heard for a while. It was a nice mix of members from other bands to form
a blended sound all their own. They looked like they were really having
fun too! I hope we see them again.

It is always a treat to hear the sounds of Glasgow Tiki Shakers. No other
band has a sound like that. It's good to hear some of their own compositions too.
Pele' Tears was truly moving. I really wish they had more time.

Fresh from surfin' the canals, the Neptunes pounded out some well-known
songs as well as some of their own. It's nice to see and hear a sax in the
mix again. Are we gonna see a CD soon?????

The Flowmasters have tightened up from the last gig I saw them play.
They were awsome and played some great songs. I really enjoyed hearing
some tunes that don't get much play.

After some technical difficulties, the Surfaris set off on one of their
journeys from the past. It was really good to see Mr. Wipeout himself take a
big part in the show. Ron smashed through a DD song or two and PJ
kept us going with his fabulous runs on the neck. Rob had to work his
parts in edgewise but did succeed. Jay and Dave kept everyone on time.

Probably the most energetic and aggressive band on the program, the
Aquasonics kept us hopping throughout their show. Cowboy hats (that
Charlie Onehorse of Chris's is tops!) and Skull masks added to the fun
of the spaghetti western segment. The spinning bass was a real treat.
Who'd ever think that a Lazy Susan could be used in a band! I want to
hear more of this band, soon! Their CD is fabulous.

I've got photos for all of these bands on Photobucket. Check the URL's
below. I have to apologize to all of the bands. I get involved with the
photo stuff and don't write down any of the song titles. However, it was
a great day for surf music. Thank You, Linda!!
