Cambeezy, thanks for the nod! The enclosure is an old clarinet case or something like that.I picked it up at a Value Village store for $5.00. I was waffling on ordering the kit in as I was unsure what to put it in when I found it. I figured it was a pretty good hint that I had to build it....lol
SurfyBear did a fantastic job with the kit. Its using a horizontal MOD pan and it sounds awesome!

It's certainly drawing some attention. If someone here is registered at TGP, (who's 'rumbletone'?) maybe a link there to this thread would be nice.
Hi,I'm a new member here. This TGP thread kinda drove me here. I will post a link to this thread.

I somehow forgot to complement you on your fabulous futuristic SBFR creation, in fact you should be arrested for making something too cool
Somehow I almost missed a compliment... Thank-you!
Once one plays and hears the Surfy-Bear, instinctively the box it's in becomes more aesthetically appealing no matter what.
Teiscofan, that looks great! Enjoy!

I'm happy to find this thread and all the positive feedback on this kit. Looking forward to it being back in stock. I'm going to order one for me and another for my lead guitarist(who is from Sweden) as a gift. That kid is going to flip out!
Thanks for the quality work Bjorn. The circuit board and layout look really top notch!

It's taken me way too long to build this thing due to time constraints, but now that I've heard it:
Seriously. Just wow. Bjorn rules. I hope to record this through my Sonido and add to the pile of great demo's soon.

Just got a 2nd board from Bjorn for another build! Here's hoping the incoming Korean-made Accutronics pan sounds better than the MOD.

let us know on the accutronics pan. I like the MOD but man it dwells on forever. Hard to get that quick "schboing" attack.

Cambeezy, also interedsted in how the accutronics pan compares. Has me thinking of a second build or maybe a pan switch in my existing build.......hmmmm
Anyone ever build a rank unit with 2 pans that can be switched or is this reverb sacriledge......

I think Slacktone Dave has a pan switch in his arsenal.
The wiki/bargain aspect of the Surfy Bear project encourages cool ideas that would never be broached if we were stuck with $700 Fender 'reissue' tanks that we were afraid to modify, much less assemble.
Hooray for reverb heresy!

Beast. You are the Beast! This just gave me a great idea. I have room on the other side of my box to hang another pan and be able to switch between the two. Waiting on Cams report back on the accutronics pan.

Now you'll need a foot switch to go from rhythm to lead pan!

My vintage Crafstman 18" toolbox has vertical space for more than 2 pans. An A/B switch for Send and a Y-junction for Return would give selectability.
