"Hello Girls!"

Oh cool!
When I watched this Twitchin video my first thought was. "Oh, it has to be played a little bit faster?". I remember this version from the Jon & The Nightriders Raw & alive album. There was Dusty playing drums.
"Twitchin`" is from the Torquays?
The Stormdancer vid is also cool. What a song! And here the drummer is definitely fast enough! : ) The fills in the song are really fast. If you want to test a new drummer for your surf band, test him (or her!) with such surf songs!

Jon Blair & The Trespassers go go!!! Yeah!

Twang cheers!

Thanks, Ralf. I'll be sure to give Twitchin' a bit more push next time. Surf tunes definitely give the drummer a workout.-Marty

"Hello Girls!"

Yes, Twitchin is by the Torquays.
There was at one time about 8 bands here in so cal covering it live.
But of course the John version always sticks out in my mind.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Actually the Torquays' version of the song was a bit slower than J&tNr used to play it. So maybe John just thought to take it back a little more to the original? But my favorite version also is the one on "Raw & Alive '98". It's so great to see that John is still playing!

We also have the song on the setlist, almost anytime we play a gig. Great fun to play!

Jon & the Trespassers will be one of the bands to play the Winter surf fest
here in So Cal on Sat. Jan 31st.

You guys do a great job with Twitchin and HotLine (a favorite Ventures for me), Simon! The lead guitar stands out nicely. It is true that John wanted to go with a more traditional sound with the Trespassers so some tempos are eased a bit. -Marty

Marty's tempo for Twitchin' is spot on.

I have the honor of being able to wear the red jacket in the Torquays way back when Duff couldn't make a show or two.

Steve Soest wrote it and that is right where he wanted it.

Great job Marty!

Thanks Jeff! I'll have the check out this afternoon (snicker snicker). -Marty
