Wish I knew enough about computers to help you out Brian. wow!... sounds that this is a serious step for the forum and all the valuable info that it contains. A solid step for SG101 ... cheers for that Brian! —When you have to shoot ... shoot! Don't talk. |

Thanks for your work on the forum Brian. The mixed content issue sounds tedious. Glad you have scripts that can help. —Sharawaji Records - UK Registered Record Label Dedicated To Surf, Instro, Reverb and Twang |

Hey just wanted to let everyone know I started a new job this week, 2 hours away from my house, and it's been a little crazy. So please give me a little more time for responding to your requests, uploads, name changes, etc. Thanks! —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

Yikes! I've had commutes like that. Just think of all the quality time you have in your car to listen to Surf Music! —This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got. |

Luckily (?) I'm not commuting. I'm going to get an apartment with the long term plan of having the family move and join me. But that might be a while. And as I get my feet wet it may be possible to work from home a few days a week also. Anyway, there is no doubt in my mind that SG101 helped get me this new job. It is a web development gig and we use some of the same tools I used to build SG101. So having that on my resume really helped me, I think. Just another reason I love this website. It's been a huge gift to me personally. It has enabled me to make so many friends and now help me land a really awesome job. I'm still dizzy! —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea Last edited: Oct 24, 2014 21:04:02 |

Congratulations! That is a VERY cool deal (the job, not the commute). In my former career I knew a couple web developers & have a large respect for the level of focus needed, especially in something such as transitioning to SSL. I think you picked the right target though & for the right reasons. Many more folks these days (rightly) are setting up their browsers to simply dismiss websites that haven't implemented that - with the other obvious benefit of being less susceptible to bad guys regarding the website as just another "useful idiot" in their efforts. 2 hour commute - holy cow! Long live the 'tele-work' concept. Especially during the winters up our way. Thanks for the tool for forwarding messages, Brian! Looking forward to using it! And, of course, congratulations on the new position. SG101 is so sane compared to the stylish and misapplied nonsense we get ordered to use at work ... But course, it's partly the product and partly the intelligent and responsive management/moderation of the product. |
