I've searched the archives and I didn't find the answers to my questions.
I'm having some issues with my Supersonic Twin. It's the 100 watt version. I lost bass and mid controls on the vintage side of the amp. Also, the amp is occasionally producing a high pitched shrill that is not feedback. I double checked the cables, etc. No luck. Called the dealer for tech support and they think it is an issue with the stock tubes. I'm a rank amateur at best when it comes to this stuff. What tubes do you recommend for replacements?

I was always a fan of the SED "Winged C" 6L6, but they seem to have become scarce and very expensive. Lots of people like JJs or Svetlanas may be good.
Make sure you get a matched quad.

In any case, I believe the Supersonic has an auto bias feature (correct me if I'm wrong somebody) so you can swap out power tubes at will without having to re-bias.

I was getting a high pitched squeal in my RI Super Reverb. I use a Reverb Tank so I disconnected the onboard reverb cables from the amp and I haven't heard it since.

I'll try disconnecting the onboard cables. I also use reverb tank. Thanks for the heads up.

As your problem is only on one channel it's likely related to that channel's tubes or their related components, not the power tubes (that would affect all channels). Try gently tapping each preamp tube with a pencil's eraser end and listen for squealing or loud ringing, and replace any noisy ones with the same type (12AX7/7025, etc.). If preamp tube replacement doesn't fix it, you'll need to take it to a competent amp tech - all tube amps run on potentially lethal voltages, and it takes experience to troubleshoot them safely and effeciently. Good luck!

Have you checked the auto biasing lights on the back of the amp? Are they all the same color? If they are all the same color then as mentioned above gently tape the tubes. If they are not the same color you will have to replace the tubes.
