It looks like someones mother was band manager, and outfit designer. Or perhaps they just like flowing red silk pants and tunics.
It sure does set them apart from the audience.

I was actually at that show, but i had forgot about those outfits, untill I was browsing the Nebulas web site today.

First I want to know why they hate Strat's.

Second...the outfits are pretty funny but I think a lot of bands in surf in particular distract from the music with too much humor. I love comedy but think it's best used in light doses when it comes to music and dressing like satanic Elvis is a bit much.

I'ts kind of an inside joke that the Nebulas hate strats. Dano told me that Rudy wouldn't let him into his house with a strat. And the Infrareds play with Mustangs and/or Jags I think. So it was kind of a no-strat show they did together.

I would much rather see bands wearing clownsuits like these as opposed to one more band wearing done to death lone ranger masks that should have stopped with The Phantom Surfers!
