I recently downloaded the Jeff Leites & John Walker MP3 version of "Journey To The Stars" from
http://www.archive.org/details/SG101_2006_MP3_Compilation
I an very curious as to how the blast off sound at the beginning of the recording was created.
Would anyone care to speculate as to how this effect was created as well as the equipment used to make this recording?
This seems to me to be a very proferssional sound. Does anyone know what group, if any, Jeff and John work with?
Thanks,

Chances are it's just a simple MP3 or .wav file. You can easily incorporate those sounds effects (which can be downloaded free from many websites) on a separate track when doing multi-track recording.

I just found out that Jeff Leites has a web site at
http://jleites.tripod.com/
where he has quite a few downloads available.
Interesting site!
