That's what the headline reads in today's Orange County Register. The band played locally on Tuesday night (with no advance fanfare that I noticed). Thought the review would make an interesting read for those interested in the Raveonettes.

Sounds like a damn good show. Uncertain Times... hell of a song and amazing live. I've only seem them play it live once. And great to see Recharge and Revolt in there, one of their best.

a lady surf fan I know went, she said it was really a great show.
She texted me from the venue, I should have went, but sadly I was gettin ready to call it a night.
Do the modern cds by them have as much reverb as the early ones?
She kept saying she likes them because of the fuzz guitar.
I remember the 1st cd being fairly reverb heavy.

There is more reverb on the more recent albums. Pe'Ahi doesn't have a ton of reverb and has some fuzz(but isn't a fuzz fest). In and Out of Control, Raven in the Grave, and Observator definitely have a lot of reverb. Nothing that screams surf, but just good old fashion Sune.

thanks Jake, I keep meaning to get more of their cds.

Listened to "Love in a Trash Can " the other day

Excellent guitar based pop

Surf ? Not so sure

Highly recommended

Australia

Never is their music surf, but being a surf band veteran Sune's tone/playing style contains some sounds we all recognize.
