So I started my band 4 years ago now (time flies!). We are called Matt Heaton and the Electric Heaters. (my nickname is Heater, and I am better known for playing acoustic guitar, so I thought that was a clever thing).
For a while, it really was me & whoever I could get to play; I think I used 8 bass players and 4 drummers over that time (with not that many gigs). But now the lineup is solid (thank gawd), and I'm thinking of dropping the "Matt Heaton and the" from the name.
So what's your reaction? would you rather see a band called
The Electric Heaters
Electric Heaters
or
Matt Heaton and the Electric Heaters?
thanks! mh

I think go with The Electric Heaters. Easier to remember than your name, and people will add the The even if you don't have it

Electric Heaters.....
being in New England many people wont know what that is...but if you called it "Space Heaters"....
here in CA there are no oil burners or heating oil tanks...most everybody has gas heat.

A quick google search brought up several bands named The Space Heaters. I vote for the Electric Heaters.

The Outer Space Heaters is an active surf band in Portland, Oregon. I know their lead guitarist. They have a CD out.
I suggest a name that reflects surf guitar somehow.
Such as: The Swimsuit Heaters.
Or: The Bikini Heaters.
Or: The Wahini Heaters.
Those names will draw my attention. The Electric Heaters not so much.

If ya ever get someone in the audience complaining about you being too loud or anything else, tell them "if you can't stand the heaters, get out of the kitchen" (drum roll, cymbal crash)

Space Heaters probably isn't a good idea anyway, there's already a surf group called "Outer Space Heaters" https://outerspaceheaters.bandcamp.com/

The Electric Heaters or Electric Heaters sounds pretty boring to me…
Oh, you are still confused?
So, I tell you what you can do: Change the band name into THE ELECTRIC HATERS.
SO you can use even your hats. Just put a bar over the "e" from Heaters.
You could even use it in this way: Write the "Heaters" with a bar over the first "e".
So that`s it. This your future!
Have fun!

You might call the band the Sparking Electric Heaters.
Then, on the hats you wear you might sew or glue an image of a lightning bolt or sparks on the visor or the back. If it's on the back, wear the hats backwards. If you're selling hats, you can offer them with or without that addition.
Regarding the Outer Space Heaters, I'm hearing echoes.

I wonder if that would mean that my hatred is electrified, or if I only play acoustic...
