I've been told that it's a sorry dog that doesn't wag his own tail, so like Crazy Aces Jeff, I'd like to share the incredible review of our CD in the new Pipeline zine. Alan Taylor calls Sonic Cataclysm "SURELY THE BEST LIVE ALBUM OF THE MODERN SURF AGE"!!! We're completely blown away! Thank you SO VERY MUCH, Alan! You honor us greatly!
And Sean Berry just shared this New Gandy Dancer review of Sonic Cataclysm, which is really great, too! Thank you, Davy!!
10th anniversary now of the USA surf/instro band The Madeira, and here's their first live set! Recorded at Melody Inn, Indianapolis December 2013 over two nights, the band give us a mix of their superb originals, covers (Dick Dale's "Night Rider", "Fender IV's "Everybody UP!" and Los Relampagos' "Macarena") and new material from their next album. Recorded and mixed by Tommy Schichtel of The Concussions. They have been one of the most reliable bands for some time now and their show is laced with the great licks and chops that make all their studio sets so popular. There's a decent pub atmosphere and response, and we'd say even if you don't care for live albums, give this a go owing to the high calibre playing. Excellent set. * * (Davy)

In the German Surfmusic Forum I have put the question: CD of the year??
So far nobody has answered but as the year still has to go on for three and a half months, it is propably too early to answer that question.
Besides the Kilaueas´Wiki Waki Wooo cd the Madeiras above mentioned live cd is one of my favorites for this title!!

We just got some very unexpected - though extremely welcome - news:
image
Unbelievable! Thank you VERY MUCH, Alan and Dave! We're truly honored! This is a wonderful way to cap off what has been a simply incredible year.
BTW, very special thanks to Tommy Schichtel for going WAY above and beyond in recording and mixing the album, Steve Blickenstaff for creating the striking cover art, Stacy Fenner for the amazing photos and Ferenc Dobronyi for doing such a gorgeous job with the art design! We really owe a lot to all these great gentlemen, and we've very grateful to them for their indispensable help!
And of course, congratulations to Crazy Aces and Bang! Mustang for their fantastic albums' high placing! (Just got the new Bang! Mustang album last week - very cool!)

Congratulations Ivan!
I'm late to the party, can I purchase the album in lossless format? I don't need the plastic, and rather the money goes straight to the band.
I'd love to dive into this one!

Hitting this level with a live album takes impeccable playing and stellar performances. Congrats!
