I figured out how to save it as a pdf, scaled down to 8.5 x 11" and got it printed on adhesive clear stuff.

Then I spent a couple hours hunting down the last parts i needed – an LED and a bracket for mounting the RCA plugs, & rubber speaker feet.

Got home and set about final assembly, sanding a space (slightly too long!) for the panel, drilling out the holes, mounting the hardware, then soldering all the leads.

Plugged it in – light on! Plugged in a guitar – Reverb! Drip!

Squink Out!

Thanks Bjorn for a great reverb-craft experience and an awesome, AFFORDABLE & authentic reverb unit! I'm gonna have a ball with this Craftsman FET Reverb.
When are you going to make a Surfy Bear logo?

Squink Out!

Thanks JObeast Smile
I hope there will be a sticker soon.
I got great help from DreadInBabylon!

Looks great JO!

I notice, playing in the bedroom today through my Gibson Tweed amp (100+º LA heat keeping me out of the garage where my Fender stack lives) that my reverb spring pan arrangement could use a little better isolation – it pings and oscillates way too easily. Maybe a spring suspension would be in order.
I also notice a harshly unpleasant distortion coming from the pan when playing some dark-voiced guitars through it. Maybe it's 'sprung' and needs to be changed out for a 'fresh' pan? Anyone else encounter this issue?

I had the same problem with 'harsh unpleasant distortion coming from the pan'. Especially when playing certain tones. I tried the 'epoxy fix' as described at the bottom of this page:
http://surfguitar101.com/forums/topic/7145/

It worked great for me. Seems like the spring joints can turn bad and create distortion. Just my experience.

Thanks for the tip, Bjorn. I don't know how old the pan is, it's a US-made Accutronics given me by a friend, may be worn out. I suppose I can try drops of epoxy & failing that, get a MOD pan replacement.

How in the world I managed to miss this thread ?!?!?! Sounds fantastic, I will get one sooooooon. I really like Jake's idea of putting it on the pedal board, but it rally needs to be isolated well to avoid crashes whenever you step on it. Anyways I love everything about Surfy Bear, THANKS Bjorn

I tried to epoxy and shim my new mod pan (because I wanted it to sound even better) and destroyed it this weekend so I had to order a new one. I have the fetverb running into my on board pan on the Twin and it's not nearly as drippy as my mod pan. I did manage to do a recording with the Fetverb before I destroyed the pan though.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Ooh, bummer, Strat! Sorry to hear you wrecked a new pan! But at least they are cheap.
I epoxied my old Accutronics pan's spring links and shimmed the transducers, w/epoxy to boot. At first I was happy with the result, but then heard fuzz in the 'verb No , then after switching out the RCA cable for a better, heavier one, it seemed the fuzz was gone. Confused I was only sound-testing at 8 AM and didn't feel free to let loose, so I can't be sure if I resolved the issue.

I feel the same way. This is a great unit to play through. The best other than tube driven.

Great experience with the Surfy Bear here. I ordered one, it arrived quickly, got it up and running in about 30 minutes. The PCB has large eyelets for the connections the user is required to make so even an unsubtle solder jockey like myself gets a wide margin of error. I haven't built an enclosure yet; just put the controls on a cardboard box so I could test it. I haven't A/B tested it with my Fender tank yet, but it feels and sounds in the zone. I'd definitely reach for this over the FRV-1 stomp box.

Also, Bjorn was quick to answer a couple of questions I had about an on/off switch and pilot light.

What's the best place get Rev Pan in EU ???
Thanks

Please let us know how it sounds compared to the tank! I'm really curious Smile Is it responsive to playing dynamics?

These pans seem to be MOD pans, I have one in my 6G15, they sound great (the shop is in Germany)

I think Tube Amp Doctor in Germany is a good supplier.
They are the European distributor for Accutronics and also sell their own TAD-pan that is about the same as the American MOD.
Then of course Ebay is another source.
