Last year it let out by 9:30, so it won't be late. Usually their east coast appearances are a good 5 to 10 years apart. So, I'd say it'll be worth it. —Paul |

Nice chronicle of the show Mr. Maiden! Yes, that was a freaking awesome show!! Loved the electric sitar segment! I also loved the fact that they apologized for the few vocals that they did. Looking forward to seeing more pics if you have them. —Paul |

Yeah, I was impressed by all. especially Bob spaulding, that guy rocks. They did the Caravan drumming the bass thing right in front of me, that was rad.Leon Taylor was freaking amazing too. Don is one funny guy, at one point Nokie was fumbly around with his stool and Don started talking in an 'old man' voice making fun of him. LOL. I got to shake Nokies and Leons hand. I didnt stay for the meet and greet after cuz of the 4 hour drive ahead of me, but as I was leaving I saw some guy running in there with a Mosrite to be signed. Definitely worth the trip. |

Since I missed the show, I've got to get me a Ventures fix. I am thinking about getting the Concert DVD Ventures in Japan '65. Has anyone seen it? |

Thanks for the pics and reports guys. The Beloved Invaders has some awesome musical moments. Just fast forward through the bizarre dubbed into Japanese segments between the songs. I never want to see The Ventures shop for clothes in Japan again. LOL. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

Old and fat? That was me! Anyway, I was probably directly behind you. We were back near the sound booth. The only thing that bugged me was that the only guy I couldn't see very well onstage was Nokie. I had to move around quite a bit to see him. BTW. What was Jeff Skunk there for anyway? Was he even actually playing anything? —Paul |

Yeah the Jeff Skunk thing was odd. At first I was thinking he might play too much, but really he didnt play enough. I thought at least during Johnny b Goode he would have soloed, but he kind of just plucked around and followed Don. Kind of odd. He was really cool though. After the first song Leon told Don that he was too loud. And he then turned his amp down. Leon also told Don that Bob 'was supposed to do the introductions now'; It seems like Leon is kind of the leader, or it seemed that way. I aslo thought it was weird that the bass amp wasnt going through the PA. When Nokie was playing, you could barely hear the bass. That sitar thing Nokie played sounded sweet though! I want one. Also the Fender Vibroverb sounded really good too, especially with the vm-110 and the boss distortion, that thing had balls. |
