After several delays, we finally managed to get back to recording. We're working on an original Holiday tune, as well as two other originals to be released as a special CD single for the Cape Kiwanda Longboard classic next month.
The ORTF mic technique for drums was our friend! We were able to knock out three tunes in an afternoon while playing live in the same room with minimal mic bleed.

Why is there a windscreen behind the ORTF mic set up?
What medium were you recording to?
Love the recording studio, looks very comfortable! Can't wait to hear the recordings.

Oh yeah...the windscreen behind the ORTF mics...that's an ancient Apollo 4 secret!
Seriously, there's no reason. The windscreen was on the mic stand, and instead of removing it we just left it there in the hope that it might make a microscopic difference in blocking room reflections or bleed. It's not really serving any purpose.
We're recording to Pro Tools 24/44.1.
3 songs are complete, we have at least 4 more to go.

We completed recording/mixing/ and mastering of a second recording session.
The first song from the second recording session has been 'released' on Bandcamp as a split single with another local band the Satin Chaps. Our tune Jupiter Jingle will appear on the B side. Digital downloads are available now, 7" vinyl will hopefully be out by the second week of December. https://thesatinchapstheapollofour.bandcamp.com/album/instant-holiday-classics
There are also 9 additional tunes (from both recording sessions) that will be released as two 7" vinyl EPs with digital download included.
