Alphonse, thanks for your attention to people from UK OR Europe.
At first you have to know that UK is a part of Europe. Big Grin
AND you have to know that the complete gear prices (amps or guitars…) are VERY VERY high in comparison to the USA for example! Nearly everything n Europe is much more expensive.
So try to be friendly on this nice forum. Thanks.

Twang cheers!

I'll second that. There is no need to call people from the EU greedy because we pay more for gear in the first place. Very impolite! This is like going to a guy in a wheelchair and asking him to run with you...

Thank you for your enlightened response Ralf.I will try to not be a such un PC imbecile in future., but for the moment, I will simply keep track of what prices people are asking from various parts of our "diversified" world. Thanks for your concern.

I'm not even slightly offended. I was looking for one on ebay uk a little while ago but on several occasions the auction was stopped before the end, almost like someone was collecting them.

Just out of curiosity, if you're based in Australia you must be closer to Japan/Korea than most of us. Do you guys ever use the Yahoo auctions.

To Sancho..The guy in the wheel chair will probably go faster than me if I was running..so good on him.Furthermore when I buy in the UK, the guitar is advertised in British Pounds, when I buy in Europe its advertised in Euro..Therefore my original post stating UK or Europe,is based solely on currency.,and more importantly, my intention is not to offend anyone.

Good, you shouldn't have used the term 'greedy b***ards from UK or Europe'. No offense taken, I - like Crumble - have to admit that prices are sky high over here and that there are some terrible dealers in the EU, asking ridiculous prices, especially on the bay.
On the other hand, it's hard to keep the price reasonable as a private person from the EU...just a little calculation when you buy a guitar from a non-EU country:
Guitar ... 1.000$
Shipping (insured and trackable) ... 150$
Taxes (22%!!! of course incl. the shipping costs) ... 253$
Total ... 1403$ (1057,34€)
Now selling it to a non EU country (Australia) you'll have to add another 150$ for shipping...converting this to Australian $ results in: 1.667,55$
Just compare the EU prices from a normal store (biggest one here is 'Thomann') and eg. Musicians Friend...it's ridiculous.

Good luck finding the guitar you are looking for though!

Hi - this is NOT MY AD and I am in no way affiliated with it, but I browse craigslist for cool stuff locally - not sure if it'd be of interest to you
or if the person would ship?

Thanks Tp Smith,
I will browse craigslist..and as long as the seller is legit. using paypal, I might find something.

Yeah, you never know.. Sometimes if I'm searching for something specific like that, I use a site like "searchtempest.com" which lets you search pretty much ALL of craigslist at once instead of trying each city one at a time. I recently bought a Reverend guitar that way, found it on craigslist and called the person, they decided they'd be willing to ship.. worked out well for me

Either way, best of luck!
