Brilliant! Thank you! Admittedly, didn't click the link to learn the song but to watch you play guitar and just to hear you talk about playing! |

Thanks Jake, I did this because a guy kept posting on other videos comments section he'd like to learn this. I thought maybe it would be of some interest here. Thanks again, very cool of you! -dave |

And I have to say, the best part of this video that I never really heard in the song before, are the harmonics, those light low d(or was it Db...) thuds thrown in there. It is just pure interesting, you take a beautiful melody and interject tension and other feelings and thoughts into it. Definitely gives me some inspiration! I have about 20 different choruses or verses that I kind of need to put together. |

Such a great tune! That and Rell Sunn Aloha have always been my favorite Slacktone tunes. —Ryan |

Thanks Dave I love this song...I had stumbled on the basic verse while tuning down to drop d (a-Ha !) but the rest of it is still way beyond my grasp...but seeing is believing so maybe I'll try to learn some more. |

Thanks to all for the nice comments! The "thumb over" stuff is in a lot of stuff I'm writing... It really opens up new possibilities that help define the key center of the upper melody played simultaneously. Don't just think of the low notes as the root... also consider the low note to be 5th or moving alt melody. Hope that's at least a little bit sensible sounding. These are some of the tricks that can help in in the dreaded trio format! ~d |

Great video Dave! That intro requires a short scale guitar though. I was trying it out on my acoustic and that was a hell of a stretch from the 7th to 3rd fret! Paul |

Try holding guitar on left leg ( classical style). That might help with the stretch. It also helps to have a jag/jazz style trem so you can lock and de-tune and still we trem bar. |
