Hello surf-brothers and sisters
So, yeah, I'm another surf-musician out of many, and I'm recording some of my own tunes in my home-studio.
I'm trying to form a band - but as you might know, it doesn't have to be that easy.
If you too are a musician, surely you will know - that when you've spent much time working on something and think it's pretty cool yourself, you'll want some feedback from other people. Especially people who's got some kind of knowledge about the type of music you've created.
I would be so very delighted and thankful, if you would spend 3 of your precious minutes on listened to the song posted here. Afterwards leaving a comment, saying whatever you think about it. Maybe some advice, etc.
My artist name is Daniel HC, and I've played all the instruments on the track, apart from the drums - they are looped. That makes it lead guitar, rhythm guitar and bass guitar.
The track name is Believe - here we go: https://soundcloud.com/daniel-hc/believe
Hope you'll enjoy!
Thanks

Sounds good. FWIW - On my crappy computer speakers I found myself wanting to hear a stronger rhythm guitar in the mix. Beyond that, thumbs up.

Big thanks for replying to all of you 3 surfers.
Fritzcat - about my gear: I use a Fender Strat, Highway model for both lead and rhythm guitars. I use an Epiphone Thunderbird bass. The drums are looped from some forgotten record :-). The track is recorded in Garageband - that means it is the build in amps used. It is a Fender Reverb Garageband amp used. Sounds pretty good, huh? Doesn't have to be that hard making good sounding records nowadays.
Acidjoker - thank you very much! I'm happy to be here, and I'll definately stay here and share stuff with you guys.
Montereyjack66 - thank you! What do you mean by 'a stronger Rhytm guitar' louder or?
Regards

DanielHC,
Welcome aboard.
Cool tune.
A suggestion that shares mj's sentiment; A more varied rhythm guitar part could add some excitement to the song.
Different strumming/picking patterns in the various sections of the song would add some depth. Whole note chords or diamonds could be cool on the choruses etc.
Thanks for sharing!

Hello CrazyAces and thank you!
I understand what you mean. Apart from whole note chords and diamonds ...
English is not my mother tongue. Whole note chords - just whole chords? Diamonds - I have no clue :-/

You're english is great!
Whole note chords/diamonds: Play a full chord or triad on beat 1 and let it ring out for the other three beats in a four beat measure.
You can hold the chord longer too, two measures, eight beats works nicely too. Experiment. Try this on your chorus, you can do it in addition to your existing rhythm part. It will "build" the chorus up and highlight it more.
Cheers,
Jeff
