Hi friends,
yes, a few days and our new album "Wiki Waki Woooo" will be released.
It took a few weeks since our "Profesor Volcanova" album… we know…
Thanks to everybody here and elsewhere for asking a lot for a new album over the last few years!!!
Thanks for your support worldwide people of the planet earth!!!
We love you!!!
To the album:
We are VERY happy with our graphic artist "Captain Fred" who made his first album art! He is a damned good artist, a nice and crazy guy located here in Berlin.
Check his website. Very funny stuff there! And feel free to contact him for your artwork/project/bookcover, whatever:
http://meanwhile-at-the-laboratory.blogspot.de
On the album you will find 16 original tunes from The Kilaueas.
We hope you will like and enjoy the songs! Let us know what you like, maybe which songs you like? Or what could/should be better for you!?
And we`re proud to be on the "all score" label again! Dietmar, the boss of the label was very happy about the new material when we asked him for doing the new album again with him. Allscore is not a "Surf" label. Check out the allscore site especially for our new album and do not miss to take a look at the other releases there. Very interesting stuff!
The "Wiki Waki Woooo" album was first planned only as LP release. But the allscore label decided to do also a CD release.
And now we have got a fantastic 180 g vinyl AND a CD which looks like the LP in mini format! It is not a simple cardboard. It is a special thick cardboard with a special intersleeve with the nice CD inside.
So… it is cool to have CD AND vinyl, haha!

You can also get it here for download. Listen to it also:

In a few days we will start our US Tour!!! Wiki Waki Wohooooooooooooo!!!!
We are really looking forward to meet many old and new friends and new cities, big crowds everywhere!
Feel free to stand right before the stages and shake your heads and bodies to "Wiki Waki Woooo"!!!

— Twang cheers!

The music of this cd brougth a big smile on my face like in 1996 when John Blair had sent to me a cassette of Fiberglass Rocket. The first songs just bang out like "dong dong dong dong"! The titles are between 1.34 and 3.43 long and the total playing time is 43.27 for 16 tunes.
Well played guitars (lead, rhythm and bass) and extraordinary drum solo e.g. on "Meteora". Titles are surf orientated like "Wet Girls", "Taste Of Bikini", "Fireboard" and "Surf Demon" with a vocal message at the half of the tune :"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the middle of the song". Great idea!! For me Surf Demon is a killer surf recording like the best ones in the 1960s!!!
The other titles are space music orientated like Cosma Ray, Meteora, Space Module, Planet Olga or Lone Star.
All 16 tracks are own compositions by the group.
The title "Wiki Waki Woooo" is a recipe for a tropica cocktail and also the name of some restaurants in the city of Rostock, formerly East Germany.
I listened to the cd twice, once over loudspeakers and the second time over headphones. The second one was more brilliant and enjoyable to me, as I could hear the instruments more clearly (maybe my Logitec boxes aren´t the real ones for this kind of music?).
Tastes of music are diffent for sure, but to me this cd gets 4 stars for the music and choice of material!!

I had to drive for a couple of hours today, so I loaded up Profesor Volcanova and Mundaka Calls on my iPod for the drive. Ended up listening to Volcanova twice all the way through, and Mundaka all the way once through as well as its first few songs again, when I got home. Damn, those are really great albums, Ralf! Hadn't listened to them in a while, but I will keep them on my iPod after this. Really looking forward to the new one!
