THREESOME is awesome! Definitely my kind of surf band. I love a three piece lineup....it lets the music breathe and gives the individual instruments their own sonic space. Add in that punk rock intensity and stage presence...ENERGY! I love it and hope to see them live someday. =)
Come to the SurfGuitar101 Convention and you will see them in August.

Hi all
If I could write fluently in English ... I write a lot. I'll try to write helping the translator.
Lorenzo does a magnificent job. It is one in the festival so happy that I was three days without leaving the Surfer Joe: morning, afternoon and evening. Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
For me the best, in addition to live performances, is the coexistence between the bands and the audience. We all love surf music. All facilities are to talk to the stars (for me they are), there are no problems about getting photos with them. To talk with Paul Johnson (a myth for me), with Dave, Dustin (he spoke to me in Spanish!) or Sam, with Jonpaul (what a great person!), To take a few beers with Sandra, meeting so many people. Good people. Everyone.
Great job team Lorenzo, from the waiter to the last employee.
The best festival I've attended (national or international).
About the bands I will not talk much. There are the videos and each draw their conclusions. My all liked. It was a hit this year slightly reduce the program in exchange for raising the overall quality of the bands. I had a dream: to see live Slacktone and I succeeded. Fifty Foot Combo were spectacular. Sandra was the queen. For me, when they played "L'etoile Noir" was the greatest moment of the festival. Surfer Joe and Surforama. And I hope also the NSSF (I hope to see them for the third time this year)
People. It's a real pleasure to meet people who come from all parts of Europe. And in America, it also came my friend "Nacho Rompantodo" from "Los Freneticos" Argentines, on an organized tour specifically to attend the festival.
It's very great joy when you arrive on Friday and you meet with old friends from the previous edition and is great sadness on Sunday night when the festival ends and you have to say goodbye to the same people.
Very important also is the market vinyls, cds, books, etc., make getting Lorenzo. It's another reason to go to the festival. There you can get a lot of very difficult stuff in Spain. I bought Albums Pyronauts, Paul Johnson / Packards, Slacktone, Tikiyaki Orchestra, Impala, Blue Hawaians and of course, the merchandising of many bands.
The seminars a success. I do not understand the technical stuff, but I saw the faces of people and paid close attention to all the speakers. It was full of people.
I do not know what else to tell. Lorenzo, as we say in Spain, "Eres el mas grande". You are the Best!
For those who do not know my channel on youtube is this. There are many videos of the last festivals Surfer Joe and Surf-o-Rama.

This year I will go one step further and I have closed the flight to Amsterdam (return trip within 24 hours). I hope to someday fulfill another dream and attend the Convention.

I just discovered that somebody shot videos of the some of the seminars from the festival 2014, so you can now learn everything about playing surf music directly from Dusty, Lorenzo, Dave and last but not least Mr. Paul Johnson himself. Enjoy!

Thanks for posting these simoncoil. I thought this was important enough to put into a news story. It should appear on the front page shortly, but here is a permanent link: http://surfguitar101.com/news/story/1019/
I gave you credit!

Wow, what a great find!
(really enjoyed Lorenzo's dissertation and his thorough understanding of drumming & background)

Does anybody know the song, which according to PJ caused the riot at the Rendezvous Ballroom? Sounds like he is saying "Charito Rock" but I didn't find anything...

Thanks guys! It's always interesting for me to hear music that was an influence to early surf music. And I actually can imagine a bar room fight (or ballroom fight) to this song.
