Rancho is a better venue for this type of music, they get to charge a cover instead of passing around a pitcher. On the downside, it gets hot up there and it's a tiny bit smaller. Had my Birthday party there in December (3 bands, I was in every one) and we packed the place out, it's a great venue, the decor is beyond bad Mexican, i.e., the perfect atmosphere (and actually the food downstairs is great).
