I think my middle school days qualify as old school for me. That's as recent as... 2001? I'm not sure that's gonna cut it for most of the people here. |

A friend and I once cut class during high school to go surfing at Huntington. On the way down beach blvd. I spy this strange car outside the wax musuem. We pull in and wouldn't you know it. It was Big Daddy Ed Roth himself. They were doing a photo shoot for Car Craft magazine. Mr. Roth was a real cool man. He wasn't as weird as people made him out to be. He ask us if we were cutting school and we said yes. He said, dont miss to much school or you wont get anywhere in life. He talked about the princess coach car he had on display for about 15 minutes with us before we headed out for the beach. What a great day. I don't remember what the surf was like that day. Joel |

Wow, thanks for sharing that memory. That is so cool. I was shopping in my local supermarket the other day and I saw a lone Rat Fink bobblehead/air freshener. I had to get it. |

I know that Surf Bands normally have no real use for PA, but in the real world, it's best to hassle the crowd back. Now with that in mind, and excluding Spanky Twangler's infamous bull horn, is anybody out there running anything cool for a PA? Mitch conned me into buying a '60s Kustom PA several years back (black rolled and pleated columns). It's pretty cool. We use it all the time, real "Murf and the Murftones" lounge cool. It's easy to carry and sets up in 5 minutes flat. Just wondering ........ed —Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps? |
