Permalink Vintage Fender Reverb prices on Ebay

New Topic

Hi All -
I wanted to share some info I've been tracking over the past 40-50 days on Ebay. I've looked at most vintage Fender Reverb units for sale on Ebay, brown or blackface, not silverface (including a 64 that I bought), 14 in all.

The average price for a vintage unit was $707, with a low of $516 (a steal, but it did have some caps replaced), and a high of $931 (for what looked like a mint 65). As you would expect, the higher prices went for more original units and those in pristine condition. YMMV with reliability of Ebay sellers, of course, but I wanted to share this info with folks of the same (warped) mind as me.

I got mine for a bit below the average due to some cosmetic issues, and it was maybe the best $600+ I've spent (other than my 66 Showman head). I had a reissue some years ago, and there is nothing quite like the original. I tried a number of RCA 6K6s in the unit and found great differences, with a couple that I really love.

Seems like dealers in the guitar rags are generally asking $900+ for exc cond vintage units - don't know how much they negotiate on this kind of item.
Rock on!
