For the first time in surf music history radio listeners all over the world will be able to simultaneously witness a major event in surf music. On Saturday June 21st and Sunday June 22nd North Sea Surf Radio, the world's #1 surf music radiostation, will be broadcasting live from the Surfer Joe Summer Festival, the world's #1 surf music event. The line up of the festival that celebraties it's 10th edition this year includes surf music veterans like Fifty Foot Combo, Slacktone, Paul Johnson, The Pyronauts and The Phantom Four.
On both days there will be a twelve hour broadcast from 1PM to 1AM Central European Time, which will re-run from 1AM to 1PM. This makes it possible for people in all continents to witness the entire radioshow and be part of this groundbreaking event. The two twelve hour shows will be hosted by various North Sea Surf Radio DJ's and will be co-hosted by several artists. Besides tons of records by the bands playing the festival the shows will feature interviews, behind the scenes reports and selected live tracks from all the performances.
"When we started with North Sea Surf Radio last September our ambition was to fully operate like a professional radiostation. In our short existence we have become a major cornerstone in the lives of thousands of surf music enthusiasts around the world. With this live broadcast we are taking North Sea Surf Radio even one step further and I am very proud and thrilled that we can serve people that do not have the possibility to go to Italy. It was my intention from day one to set up a live radio event like this and the Surfer Joe Summer Festival is without a doubt the best place to do so."
Niels Jansen, Founder, North Sea Surf Radio
"When Niels at North Sea Surf Radio asked me if I would be interested in doing a live radio event I told him I would be willing to do anything to make this possible. Even though it is a lot of extra work at an already hectic event this is a new and exciting step where our festival becomes more than an event witnessed by the visitors only. With this live broadcast all people unable to make it to Livorno can now be part of the action and enjoy the Surfer Joe Summer Festival without having to go there. I am very delighted that we will have thousands of extra visitors through North Sea Surf Radio that will be able to enjoy the event we have been working on so hard for all these years".

So, you read about our news. I really do hope you will enjoy the whole program even though you will not have the chance to come.
We will try anything possible technically to make connection and streaming stable. We have technicians and lots of ideas to carry on the most interesting program with many interviews and a few NSSR djs all working together.
Due to the technical complication and the fact that we are working on 3 stages, all concerts will be streamed right after they will happen. So if a concert is at 10pm, it will be streamed generally with 1 hour delay, which is 11pm.
We will surely get some audio also from the seminars and symposiums, trying to do our best. At Surfer Joe Music we are arranging video coverage for most of the event.

Lorenzo
I took this to mean they are video recording the event, but my reply may have been misunderstood. I should have been more clear.

Stupendous! I'll have to set an alarm to remember to run our HF weather net for a couple hours. What a great thing to go with a morning cup of coffee and carry into the day.
