If you have opened this up, you may already be familiar with the Allen Old Flame amp. If not, it's a clone of the Fender Super Reverb amp with a few changes built by Mr. David Allen (not a kit).
One being the master volume. This greatly improves the amps usability and in no way affects the sound negatively. The master volume is kinda one of David Allen's legacy traits and basically it allows for a great sound at any volume level.
Secondly, you have a knob named "RAW". This brings up the mids scooped by the tone stack while providing a substantial gain increase. Creates a tweed-like sound.
Lastly, the 3 knob reverb really changes the sound vs. the single knob on a Super Reverb. You have control over the amount of dwell, mix and tone just like an outboard reverb tank. However in this case, the reverb is after the tone stack, so it sounds different. Also you can really bring it down and it works very well with over drive and distortion.
Speaking of distortion, these amps are famous for taking effect boxes well. They just seem to blend into the amp and don't sound or feel at all like an add-on.
40 Watts (6L6GC power tubes and GZ34 rectifier tube), Hand-wired point-to-point with tinned solid-core PVC wiring, G-10 glass epoxy circuit board with brass eyelets. Carbon film resistors, Mallory M150 and CDM silver mica tone capacitors, Switchcraft jacks, Carling switches, and U.S. made molded type sockets. It is a 2x10 Combo - 24.25"W x 18"H x 9.75"D, 52 lbs.
The speakers are Eminence Ragin Cajun and Copperhead.
