I have the Danelectro Cool Cat Tremolo. Got it for pretty cheap, forgot where. Its great.

Biyang FZ-7 Fuzz only $39 for vintage sounding fuzz to Smashing Pumpkins type fuzz.

Here's a thing - apparently the Joyo Voodoo Octave just isn't wired correctly, two fairly quick swap arounds in the circuit fix it up as it should be:

Just ordered the cool cat tremolo, the fab echo, and am considering the cool cat vibe.

the one thing I don't like about my Super Champ XD is the fact that I can only use like one effect at a time...so that's reverb. The pedals should allow me to get some new sounds that have been lacking since I picked up the XD.

+1 for Mooer pedals. I've the Pure Boost, a Xotic RC clone. It's very clean, a must have!

I have the same issue with my Roland Cube..

you can have one of

'efx' - which is one of chorus/flanger/phaser
and 'delay/reverb' which is one of delay OR reverb

since i have reverb and a few other things in pedal form now i'm seriously considering ditching it for a fender champ, but i'm not sure

Which champ? super champ or champion?
both are very solid, but the inaiblity to dial in multilpe effects at once like in the VOX Valvetronix + line (which is AMAZING) kind of hurts everything.

The Joyo mod works (much to my band mates dismay)now I try to put fuzz everywhere it don't belong., NEXT the feedback mod on a BLT slapback for flying saucer sounds.

The Cool Cat Vibe is pretty good for it's price. Beware though, it has quite a volume boost when you engage it and a very slight delay before it really starts working.

Sorry for the confusion, I mean the Champion 600. For the forseeable most of my playing is at home, in a reasonably confined space. (My 'man cave' is most of a self-converted single car garage). I have a few effects pedals (rv-7 reverb, 2 distortions, the fab i mentioned earlier in this post, and a ds-1, danelectro v2 fuzz, + ehx lbp-1 boost), now I have the reverb pedal I feel this option has become the next obvious step in front of me.

Due to singular-ish nature of the champion 600 I'd keep my Roland Cube 20X as well and see what feels redundant once I have them in active use. Prior to having the reverb pedal I mostly used the Cube on JC Clean or valve simulation model with a bit of reverb.

I feel these amps with lots of onboard effects are a gateway drug, just enough to give you a taste but not enough to satisfy for the long term in terms of depth and tweakability. (and since Roland and Boss are the same company even more so).

Scratch that. After some research, I just found a used once 600, with tags.. the limited run FSR Little Blondie. (only 200 in north america, and 200 in the whole of europe)

You buying that?
I've heard nothing but great things about those champs.

Hopefully I just have! I clicked "buy it now" and have paid, just waiting for the seller to accept the payment. all in it was only slightly under what they were going for at retail.

Seller has 0 feedback and payment not being accepted is making me wonder.. I'll be careful about only buying via a ebay invoice if another one is issued. However the seller has a few items on, all pics taken in the same location, with some good detail to show its a unique listing. so I'm quite hopeful. (don't worry, I write computer security software for a living, i'll keep within the safe zone)

If it goes tits up there are the normal versions on fairly regularly for a bit less than this one.

Update: Payment accepted, Have the sellers name.. fingers crossed.

Update: Had a message from the seller. Its at the local Post Office, will have it Thursday (Luckily, one of the two days during the week I carry a guitar to the office as I teach my dad that night!)

I'm a big fan of old Ibanez and DOD pedals. The whole Ibanez Tone-Lok series, in particular the FZ-7 Fuzz and the DE-7 Delay/Echo are great, as is their phaser and chorus/flanger pedals. With DOD, I like the old FX60 Delay, The Vibro Thang, the Punkifier OD/mono-fuzz, and any of the pedals that have the word "Box" at the end of their name (Meat Box, Ice Box, Juice Box, Milk Box, etc). The bright orange Classic Fuzz is durned good, too. Some of the DOD stuff is catching on with collectors, but the Ibanez pedals can still be had uber cheap.

Crispy, both the Ibanez Tone Lok series, as well as the 'Tank' series they put out in the 90's are fantastic. Sure, they could all use a rehousing, but the sounds are spectacular. I actually had the Ibanez 'Echo Machine'(AD-5) when KBK started. Stupidly, I sold it. I wish I had it back. Apparently it was the rare pedal of the line and also quite sought after now, fetching prices close to $200 when I do find them.

THE KBK ... This is the last known signal. We offer Sanctuary.

that's aweseom about the champ being shipped!
You'll have to provide some sound clips when you get it!

I think theres no physical difference between the FSR Little Blondie and the VM '06 reissue with the darker sides. YouTube has lots of vids that probably demo the tone better than I can. Just avoid the ones where people have modded them and turned them into something else.

Basically a nice, clean home volume tube amp that records well.

I've done a test with a 9v danelectro honeytone amp and my cube 20x and I can run two amps out of the last pedal in my chain (the hardwire rv-7 reverb I bought last month) so I can A/B tone wise.

Back on the pedal tip.. anyone have experience of the Joyo delay pedals? I've seen them on ebay at crazy cheap prices.

I like the DOD pedals as well. They were quite affordable and didn't have tons of controls, so many people assumed they were either beginner or low quality pedals. Their loss! They sound nice and were made in the USA. The only thing I hate about them is that stupid battery cover that you inevitably mislay within 10 minutes of owning the pedal. Argh

As for the Ibanez Tone Lok series, I had a distortion pedal from that series (can't remember which) and I never liked the sound. But I hear the other effects are pretty good. I think the retractable knobs are a brilliant feature. Also, I opened mine at some point and it was pretty cleverly designed, with strain relief for jacks. Some batches came with faulty switches though, so if you buy one make sure you try it first.

Old punks never die... They just become surf rockers.

Amp arrived! Luckily I have a strat with me and a guy here has an ibanez by his deck.. fired it up quickly.

Sounds great Smile 8 hours til I can get Little Blondie home, add pedals and crank her!
