Since many people here have valid businesses, I thought I'd relate something I experienced. About five years ago I received a Western Union Money Order for $3,000.00 for a T-Shirt order. My bank told me the MO was good and that it was okay to ship the shirts. I insisted on pushing Western Union to validate the MO. It turns out the bank the MO was bought at didn't exist and the whole thing was a scam. I told the very indignant "customer" that he had been the victim of fraud and should pursue it in his own country. I never heard back. The post by hanmei vividly recalls that episode. It is very easy to verify through Western Union whether a Money Order is valid. If there is no way to independently verify a Monry Order, just sit on the order until your bank receives the actual cash transfer; this may take up to two weeks for international orders. Sellers beware, or in this case buyers beware, because there is very likely no possibility you will ever receive your order. —This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got. Thanks Jeff. But with SG101 2.0, there is no need for silly threads like this. When you suspect a spam post, just click the red flag in the lower right under the post. That will alert me and I'll take care of it. No muss, no fuss. Thanks! —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

Sorry Carol, I deleted your post since you accidentally posted the link to the spammer's site instead of the link to the post. In the future just click the little red flag in the lower right corner of the post. Thanks!! —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

Just a friendly reminder. When spammers strike, just click the little red flag in the bottom right of the post. Resist the urge to reply to the spammer. The reason is I get emailed when people flag posts. I have a one click function that will delete all posts from a spammer and deactivate the account. But if people have replied to the spam, it leaves weird orphan threads with just the non-spammy replies. I have to manually delete those. Thanks! I may have to change the security question when registering. It seems it must be posted somewhere as we have seen an increase in attacks lately. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

If I see a barrage like this morning (even after a few hours), flag it only once? I certainly don't want to spam you about spam. Last edited: May 12, 2014 14:44:50 |

It really doesn't matter too much. If you really want to pay attention just flag the user profile of the spammer, not every thread they make. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |
