I have bad news and good news.
The bad news is that newly formed professional obligations prevent Unsteady Freddie from accompanying me to the Summit this year. He simply can not get away.
The good news is that my room at the Duke Tower is booked for two adults, so I have room for someone who needs a good place to stay near the venue. I also can bring someone down if you can get to my house before I depart, or you are on the general travel route.
Please PM me if interested.

Gad! We're soooo close! Gah!
Wanted to post this on here: a link to our WXDU Instro Summit Preview show, which most folks didn't hear due to the stream being kaput. You can hear the whole thing right here:

Incidentally, I've just learned that the Crazy Aces are number eight and rising on WXDU's Top Ten playlist. The Duke folks seem to enjoy them boys from Nashville.

Who doesn't? I hung out with them at Surf Fest last year where they let the best kept secret since Mr Zog's sex wax on a surfboard out of the bag.
Clever........really clever. Gifted, really.
Dig it.

Yikes! I just realized, that while Carol agreed to play Phantom Mustang with me during the Open Jam, I never gave more than a passing thought to who'll play bass and drums?
Who will play bass and drums on Phantom Mustang? The song is a slow stroll, in what I assume is 6/4-time, or at least that's how I count it. Anyone going who is familiar enough with the song to play along, or could be?
In case you're interested, it's here, on ReverbNation.

This sounds like classic "Prom Beat" to me, Noel. A dreamy 4/4 stroll goin' on under that staccatto guitar lead, snare on 2 and 4, with 8th note triplets playing on the ride cymbal.
Drummer speak: "1 and ah 2 and ah 3 and ah 4 and ah ..." Repeat endlessly until nodding off, then add some 16th notes in there to amuse ones self.
Watch guitarist's lead to signal the stops and a couple of tricky phrases.
Should be fun! Post video for us wannabes!

I'm happy to report that there will be an all new Fiberglass Jungle today at 2PM PST on luxuriamusic.com. But that's not all...the entire 2 hours will be dedicated to an Instro Summit 2014 preview! Every single band will be represented and appear in the exact order of the Summit! It'll be just like being there (well, not really). Extra special thanks and appreciation to all the bands that stepped up and got their material to me in time!
