I think this test is a better measure of musical memory than tone-deafness. I'm confident I have a better ear for tone than my low average score indicates. I imagine that longer phrases combined with longer pauses in between would result in an even lower score. I got a near perfect score on another test that played well-known melodies with some wrong notes thrown in on some. I think I did better because the memory component was taken out of the equation. At least that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. |
