Hi Everyone! This just in: A shot of our band, "The Aquatudes", from the 2014 UCONN Spring Weekend faculty and staff talent show. That's "Jonathan", the UCONN Huskies mascot, rippin' up the bongos. Our bassist, Aqua Mike, at left, is an engineer with UCONN's Engineering and Architectural Services staff. That's me holding onto my bongos for dear life, and Aqua Tom, a.k.a. SG101's "Noisy Dad", losing it at the far right.
We took home the Second Place trophy, bowing to an impressive belly dancer from the UCONN Payroll Dept.!
Good times!

What do you do when you're in the surfing capital of the country and you've finished all your work by 3pm?
Head down to the beach and give the folks watching the surfers an appropriate soundtrack of course!
And I was still getting paid for the first two hours of this.

I'm sure I'm probably in here somewhere.
But now with the new post a pic from phone feature.
I thought I'd post this one.

Lots of dead links too.
I'd like to encourage everyone who has posted in the past to re-update this thread.

Here's "Surfer Rex" post-gig at the 5th annual WOBC Block Party.
(L-R) Shorgasmatron (Bass), Kaiju (Guitar, aka TomH on the 101), Godzilla (Drums), and Mez O'zoic (Guitar, aka cambeezy on the 101). Mez is living proof that if you wait long enough and keep practicing, someone will invite you to start up a Surf Band! Many thanx, Tom!

Fixed, though not exactly updated. Since I'm still riding around on the same bike and wearing the same jacket, the original pic will do.

I'll just knock out a few folks (photo credit goes to Jeff of The High Fedelics); from left to right... The back of Staccato Mike's head (The 9th Wave), MadScientist/Jamie (The Mystery Men?), me lurking behind everyone (youtube hack, El Mirage), SoniChris waaay in the background (The Aquasonics), Noel (needs no introduction), killbabykill34/Noah (Kill Baby...Kill!) and the back of CrispyGoodness/Crispy Bess (PhatLynx, Killer Filler, music legend, head honcho of world's largest instrumental music festival, barbecue connoisseur) at the 2013 Instro Summit.

I wish I remembered what Crispy (or Noah?) was saying that had us all laughing so hard.

I was either pretty drunk or completely exhausted at this point. Heck, I could have been both. With that said, Noel, it wouldn't have taken much to get me laughing at that point.

Carol, try another format. I don't think .tiff is widely supported. On Firefox under Windows it isn't showing up.

Definitely NOT a current picture, but here's one of me back in 1967 at NAS Agana, Guam, during Viet Nam war:
...and, yes, that ain't a Telecaster!

Aloha....
So long as costs are covered, I would have thought that the opportunity to play on a Hawaiian beach was definitely recommended.

Insect Dave will understand. Actually, we all do. That's a very cool guitar.

Here's a fairly recent picture of me, from last December I believe, playing a mellow set at the Melody Inn with my band Gypsy Moonshine.
