Hi, I've been lurking for awhile, what a great site, so, its time to join in. Been surfin', playing guitar in south Florida all my life. My bands originals are a little more agressive then the classic sound, I like distortion, and like it loud. My question is....if say Mr. Moto is played with less reverb, and a screamin' lead solo as the last verse, would we still be considered a "surf" band, and can I still hang with you guys?

Sure, www.cutbacksurfband.com can't say I'm trilled with the sound, but the tunes are there.

welcome to sg101, surfer. it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round...and loud electric reverberated guitar rhythms are right at the top of my list!

Joelman, thanks, we're trying to get back in the studio, if I can find one that gets it. All our tracks are live, no overdubs, and its hard to find a studio big enough to record a whole band at once, what a concept.
