Alex has asked me, as a friend, to post this on his behalf. He wants to sell some of his guitars and other gear. Everything is located in Berlin, Germany, and is being taken care of by Alex's good friend, George Porter, who can be reached for details and arrangements via his email, george.porter@web.de
I'll update this with pics as soon as possible.
1) The first item is the very Stratocaster that Alex played in the amazing televised concert from Brazil. Here is what Alex said about it.
American Stratocaster -1999. €800. Oly White custom finish over original Metallic Blue.
I´ve changed the neck many times, and this the last one has proven to be very helpful, it is a modern half C-shape, wide and slight radius, a rather good one to fingerpick as well...
Extremely comfortable and adjustable from the headstock, which is great, also poss. to adjust from behind the neck at the height of the 15th fret, from behind.
At a gig I was tremoling wildly and; snap! the whammy bar broke at the very base, so the broken piece is still stuck inside of the cavity. Other than that she's a fantastic player, never wanted to bother changing the trem block because it just sounds amazing as is!
Some fret wear is noticeable, but still in good playing condition, though the finish shows a lot of use.
Remember I play 0.13s to 0.56, so the necks I use are like warriors, they MUST keep up.
2) Next is a Levrier Black Telecaster, handmade in Italy by Mauro Levrier Manetti. €1000.
Great guitar, much better than a Fender due to neck construction, body-wood and hand-wired alnico 5 PU's, Sperzels, Bone Nut, hand work etc...!
On this one I used to use 0.12-0.54s and the neck is gorgeous...flamed maple, two pieces and reinforced where the neck meets the headstock, which improves the tone paramount.
3) Black Ovation Celebrity with a good softcase. SOLD!
4) Rerun Electronics (Mr Jeff Fischer) Custom Made 50 watts all tube combo amplifier, with a premium vintage hand picked 15" loudspeaker. €600.
This one has the character of a nice 50´s Gibson Amp. I think Jeff used that circuitry and added a few mods that are killer, certainly not surf, but definitely a Country-Link Wray-Rock-booster mojo. With awesome opto- trem, balanced so it DOESN´T drop in volume when you switch it on... it is a devil in disguise, as the looks are quite minimal, but this amp really delivers the goods.
5) Fender Supersonic 2 x 12" Cabinet with, tilts and wheels. Has vintage Eminence speakers. 8 ohms. €450. Sounds fantastic!
6) Line 6 Flexatone XL. 100 watts, with the infamous first generation POD bolt on, (bought it in year 2000) has been quite on the road, and heavily used as a practice amp. The sound is nothing good for surf, but very flexible indeed for the Top-40 kind of gigster-journey man, with many FX and stuff like that. I never really used it like that, but for doing experiments with feedback and volume, and in combination with other amps, shoegazer style. I think €250 for this one should be fair enough.
Well, that's it. Shipping costs being what they are, the amps and cabinet will probably only be of interest to people who are close enough to Berlin to drive to get them. The guitars are much more reasonable to ship from Germany.
—This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.
