I have one of those sitting in my parent's basement. Quick pull the reverb tank out of it........!

The issue with the L-100 series was that the 16' stop is not coupled all the way down the keyboard. It was on the M-series organs and they sound much bigger.

I played keys for a while in our 80's era cover band. At that time I had three Hammonds, the L, a C-D with chorus generator (no percussion) and an E concert with full pedal board. I never moved that one as it was way too heavy. My D was by far the better of the three and I had two 122 Leslies. One cool thing was that the D was made in 1939 and originally sold to the First Baptist Church Arlington, VA. All the early records were recorded on the records chart glued to the inside of the organ bench. Yeah we lugged that along too. I sold it to a guy here in Atlanta who rebuilt it and refinished the cabinets ebony black. Boy was it stunning.

Old man Hammond started out as a clock maker. His tone wheel generator is a work of mechanical perfection and art. Built like a tank, and no other electric instrument can match the Hammond organ for sheer power and expression. A great steel player can approach it but a console Hammond and a leslie.................. Push down the pedal and pull out the draw bars. Just like a vintage big block all American V-8. Damn, nothing else compares.

I wish we hadn't gotten off on this subject..................

Believe it or don't, we have been picking up M3's, Baldwin orgasonics (sp) and various other spinet types on the side of the road on trash nights.

I have yanked the Leslie bits from solid state thomas organ and built a small 1x10 20watt solid state cab with 2 speeds, found speakers (Rola,CTS etc..)from other solid state hunks, reverb pans and tube amps,pre amps from others. One mans Junk as they say.

The latest was a Hammond T-100 from Goodwill for 25 bucks. Come pick it up in NE Ohio for 50.00 I'll help you load it.

Hammonds can be addictive. They tend to have babies out in the garage. I'm down to just two now. Both RT3s. Three Leslies and an HR40 tone cab. They take up a lot of space.

My best Hammond score outside of free spinets was an A100 and a Leslie 51 for $400.....it was minty but needed a run switch So I guess it cost $410.
