Not mine, but it certainly would be if I had the money! It's rough, but seems pretty cheap for the current value of one.
Here's to hoping someone here can jump on it...

It's like a 1963 or 64 Blackface and not a 1962 Brownface. The tolex and handle are correct, but not the rest of it. —Matt "tha Kat" Lentz Last edited: Mar 06, 2014 22:27:58 |

It has a presence knob, and no bright switches.....its a 62/63. —"You can't tell where you're going if you don't know where you've been" Last edited: Mar 06, 2014 22:29:42 |

Yes, you're correct, Chris. But it's been pieced together with BF baffle and knobs. I guess the numbers are covered by the black knobs. —Matt "tha Kat" Lentz |

yes. I saw it earlier today and thought the same as you Matt. But I looked at the pictures for quite a while. The main thing that throws me off is the faceplate looks black. It must just be the pictures. It looks like its had a couple of wonky things done to it internally, but still a cool amp. These brownface Showman amps just keep getting further and further out of reach. If this was about $500 less, I'd take it on for sure. —"You can't tell where you're going if you don't know where you've been" |

You're right again, Chris. 25 years ago they were very inexpensive and available and now they're only going up in price, even the ones whose owners tried to make their old amps look like the new ones back in 1965. This owner took it further than I've seen by replacing the grille and Fender emblem as well as the knobs. Maybe he even painted the face. I did look a little closer at it and noticed that one can almost see the numbers underneath the knobs. —Matt "tha Kat" Lentz |

Yeah, initially I also thought it was just a blackface amp, until I noticed the space and line between the last knob. According to the listing, the previous owner just regrilled the original baffle, which makes sense as there were no short blackface heads as wide as a brown Showman. Seems to me some runs of brown faceplates seemed to use a VERY dark brown, which can appear black at times. I think it'd be pretty painstaking to darken the brown and not the white! |

If I only had the fundz...I'd buy Chris's reverb first. Matt "tha Kat" Lentz |
