I'm tickled to see that BABY ELEPANT WALK is being played. I do a surf version of SKATERS WALTZ. You should hear that. L7 |

Yeah, Baby Elephant Walk is a fun song, people seem to like it I've been working on a surfy version of "Java" too. I got to meet the reclusive Jimmy Torres ("Wheels", "Sugar-shack") a few years ago. I had donated my drum kit for a concert at Willamette High School where Nokie Edwards and Jimmy Torres played. After the show I got to go backstage and meet Nokie and Jimmy, and Nokie autographed one of my drum heads for me. Jimmy had a pretty new red Strat that I commented on, and he said "Yeah, Fender gave it to me". So I said "jeez, what do I have to do to get Fender to give me a guitar?", and he said "write a hit song..." So I said "I've got one right here in my pocket!" and he kind of rolled his eyes and grinned. Nice feller. Nokie had been ill and wasn't feeling too well so I didn't bug him. I did give his wife my demo tape though. |

Great List - I did a quick count and I've got 12 of those songs in my daily use MP3 player right now (out of 83 total songs). Interestingly enough the last Punk band I had was called Nova X... eerie coincidences..? Or something more..? Psych! JC |

Is that "Hocus Pocus" by Focus? Forgot to put "Sesame Street" on my list. |

YES. It's a mix between the Gary Hoey version and the original by Focus. No yodeling - all parts done by gitar. It's a crowd pleaser. — |

For starters, I imagine they're grateful there's no yodelling. |

Wow, these lengthy lists make me realize that I need to learn more songs start to finish. I've got a really bad habit of jumping on one song, getting vaguely proficient with that one (or maybe just learning most of it) and then moving on to another, and repeat. Where can I buy a longer attention span? The one in Gm Those are all complete, but somehow my imagination has run dry in coming up with names for them. |
