Just added Daikaiju to our Saturday night lineup.

Dom Casual is a venerated local group that mostly sings, but like a lot of bands in the Raleigh-Durham Triangle, has amassed a small but wonderful collection of instrumental tunes over the years, and they'll be playing a mess of them just for us at the Summit. It's part of our annual "Singers at a loss for words" series.

Yep, they are definitely known around these parts! I was an instant fan when I first saw them a few years back, so I'm really excited to see them again, doing an instro set no less!

FINALLY!! An INSTRO SUMMIT that is not happening on the First Weekend of May! I say this b/c I always have my SURF-ROCK SHINDIGS on the first Saturday of the Month.

With that said, I am working on rearranging some conflicting plans that I have during that weekend, so that I can attend. Will do my best!!

Shout-out to Noel Squitieri for bringing me up to speed on this, and encouraging me to be part of the instro-surf-beat extravaganza!

Yea! Finally I'll get to show off me festival to Freddie!

The lineup order is painfully close to being completed. I'm literally awaiting word from two bands whom I'm really hoping will play our Saturday Matinee section between the Lunch Jam and the Rumble jam. Cross a few more fingers, and I'll have everything ready by next week.

Looking forward to it ! !

I have finally put the 2014 lineup at the beginning of this thread. Hope to have a link to advance tickets soon.

Yeah, what all those dudes & dudettes with Noel said!
Nothing says "I'm going" like owning advance pass - c'monnnnnnnnn ticket link. No relatives or in-laws own me that weekend yet.

FWIW, I think it's great that there's a period on Saturday that is family-friendly. I know from hosting jams eons ago that little kids can make a musician's day by simply having fun & shaking their, well... vs. the "armchair fingerboard quarterbacks."

Is it spring yet...? Confused

You've outdone yourself once again, Crispy! SO STOKED!! Headbang

Pretty awesome ! Let us know about that condo-hotel, looks like it could be a pile of (discrete and grown up) shenanigans, and fun-filled.

How about more info? Schedule, motel rooms, indoor-outdoor, etc.

As I said in the very first post--these things aren't ready yet. Soon though, I hope.

I haven't talked with them yet, but our hotel of choice by the Motorco is the Duke Tower Motel. I'm hoping to set up a special "Instro Summit rate" shortly.

That's where we stayed last year. Any word on group rates yet? Or did I miss that post, too? Big Grin

Not yet--soon, I hope.

I'm sure CG is pedaling as fast as possible. I'll be hawking for that as well as the eventual link to order a pass. I'll have to do some further research as my layover requirements are minimal and not staying in a high-end place leaves more room for STUFF! But will see what the group rate yields. Trips are fun to plan when the wind-chill is in the mid-20's below zero.

I've got to make it up this year. I'm tired of being lame and not showing!
