OK here's my review for the SS 100 head starting with the good.
The amp has incredible sound and matches the Twin Reverb, Showman and Bassman amp models almost perfectly. You can get some very good distortion without having to be cranked up high by switching it to 25 watt and using the dual gain knobs. The bias controls (cool/hot) are quick and easy to change.
Now for the bad and it's bad. I had a problem with the first amp head when I turned the reverb above 5 it started to hum pretty bad even with the volume turned to 0. I returned it to GC and I picked up the replacement today, hooked it up and same problem. So if you want to play surf songs and do some recording forget about it.
Now for those of you that might say it could be the plug I'm using might be causing interference, nope. Before I returned the first amp head I had an electrician install an independent plug that is grounded at the cicuit breaker box and I still had the same problem. After posting this I will be returning the head hoping the third time is a charm.

Update:
Got the new amp head today and the third time was the charm. Everything including the reverb works great. Played around a little and hooked up some pedals and the amp is just freaking amazing.
On a side note could only crank the amp for an hour as the inlaws are staying at my house for a while. When they walked in the door I connected the amp to my new Jet City Jettenuator and was still able to jam at a very low volume but still sounded great.
Will try to get some sample recordings over the next few weeks will post some here.

Stan,
I tried a combo when they first came out years ago. I believe, IIRC, it had a Vibrolux/Bassman side, and then the "burn" side.
I loved the Vibrolux and Bassman tones (the burn tones were just OK IMHO) but the problem was, they were on the same "channel" and shared the same volume knob.
The footswitch would allow you to toggle between the Vib/Bass, but the problem was, one was much louder than the other - so if you were playing live you'd have to reach over and change the volume - impossible if you were going to use both settings in the same song, and cumbersome at best if you were switching between songs.
This amp sounded like my dream Fender - all the tones I wanted in one amp - but I want access to all tones all the time, with "set it and leave it" controls.
Do the newer ones include any such flexibility?

It all depends on how much you want out of the burn channel. If you want a rock n roll distortion it would be a lot higher than the clean. If you just want some crunch you can get the clean and crunch at the same level. In any case I've only played around with this amp for 3 weeks I haven't explored all areas like lowering or raising the tube levels using the bias controls so my guess is if you play around with the amp a lot you should be able to dial in both clean and burn at the same level no matter what. Then you could always go the route of using effects pedals to get what you are looking for.

OK I was playing around a lot with the amp yesterday and I am able to dial in a clean and burn channel at the same level. So yes it can be done.
I also hooked up a chorus, echo, dual tap delay a wah and big muff pedal to this amp and man it sounds freaking sweet. I still have to fine tune the pedals but I can't wait to start recording some stuff in another month or 2.

If I understand correctly, stevel's problem is not the level difference between the "vintage" and "burn" channels (which can be adjusted) but between the two voicings of the "vintage" channel (which can't).
Also, it looks like you're not talking about the same amp. Stevel mentioned the Vibrolux & Bassman voicings, which are found on the Super-Sonic 60, while NYStan bought a Super-Sonic 100, which has Showman & Bassman voicings along with a bunch of extra features, like reverb and an automatic bias control.
