Permalink Gretsch Power Jet Firebird - SOLD

New Topic

Selling my Gretsch Power Jet Firebird G6131T-TVP to offset some costs. Awesome Gretsch for just about any style - Thumbnail inlays, TV Jones PowerTron pickups, pinned bridge, Bigsby and that classic red top.

It's also currently sporting an upgraded Compton bridge, which gets rid of the annoying rattle inherent in Gretsch's TOM-style bridges and feels great under your hand. The Duane Eddy handle shown will be staying with me, so it'll ship with the stock Bigsby handle.

Great guitar in great shape, just some swirls, etc. from normal play. OHSC included in good shape as well, though 1 of the 5 latches is a broken.

SOLD

Typierce, I was three weeks premature since I love that color.. just picked up a 2012 Black Filtertron Duo-jet off Sarasota Craigslist. Can you tell me which Compton Bridge you went with? Great guitar at a great price so I know you'll be able to move it.

Hey GuyGuy - I'm not sure on the Compton. I think it was aluminum, though I can't say for sure as it came into my hands with the Compton already installed.

I've used Tru Arcs on some guitars with great results, but the Compton design seems to maintain a sharper contact point with the string than a bar would. Not sure if that betters or worsens the tone, but it's the main difference I noticed.

Appreciate that, congrats on the sale as well.
