Fender's demo now up

The Hicadoolas

I think someone at Fender watched Pat Quilter's famous time travel video.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

I like the fact that they put an effort in making the movie.

I think it sounds pretty cool. I might have to try one out. Anybody concur.

Either you surf, or you fight.

I've always wondered why the heck Fender made radioactive sign embroidered patches a few years ago. Now I know it was just so they would have something to sew on the scientists' breast pockets in that video.

Old punks never die... They just become surf rockers.

Oh jah! Ich mag es!

Sounds pretty good to me - and a great Fender video too.

If only I had some money....

There are a few more demo videos on YouTube done my another guy. I'm liking it more and more. I'll have to stop by some of our dealers here and see if they have them in stock. Could be my next amp if this Kustom Coupe '36 sells before I have the money available.

Either you surf, or you fight.

They seem o.k., but at only 12 watts I don't know if it would be much more than a bedroom player. If they made one in the 30-40 watt range they'd have my attention.

Good point. I'd like to see a demo using more reverb too.

Either you surf, or you fight.

Hi Ok I had to try one of these and I really thought I would like it. First that reverb only sounds like that with the volume off they must have turned up the mic when making the video. Very week reverb and I tried the amp with a Strat and my Gretsch with TV Jones pickups in both the normal and then the bright channel .The amp breaks up VERY early totally unsuited for Surf OR Rockabilly in my opinion. You can't get a truly clean sound at more then 1/4 to 1/3 volume anything more gets mushy probably a cool amp for kids that like that sound but way too broken up for my tastes . I didn't even bother with the Vaporizer switch . The last years excelsior sounds WAY better than the fender vaporizer in my opinion for surf or rockabilly!

Thanks for the review Rick. I kinda suspected as much. I think I'll look for something else.

Either you surf, or you fight.

My review wasn't wrong I just rethought what I could use the amp for, Home practicing ,recording and I am experimenting with a change of tubes ,12AY7's to get more head room . The reverb isn't weak BUT I explane how you need to be in the Bright channel to use it in the demo .Go hear for demo and review

That was a very good review. Best I've seen so far. I like the sound, but I'll still need to see and hear one in person. Om
New thing I know for sure though is that I'm an idiot for selling my Galxie!

Either you surf, or you fight.

You'll have to pry my Dipinto Galaxie from my cold dead hands Wink

Ha ha! I'm getting back into playing and might have to get another one. I'm looking at Gretsch, but may go back to Dipinto.

Great review/ demo. I saw Dipinto shared it on their facebook page.
