surprisingly noone pointed this out on SG 101.
I have reminded this at the German Surf Musik Forum.
20 years ago I have done a radio show on a local radio station honouring
his 10th anniversary of death.
In other parts of the world he did stand for the typical sun tanned brown
surfer boy and created the image of the California surfer and "happy, easy go lucky" lifestyle.
In 1986 Dean Torrence wrote on the Do LP Silver Summer:
Dear Dennis,
We wish you eternal blue skies,
Warm sand and big waves.
We all miss you!
Nothing else is to be said.
