Sorry to hear that you left us Matt. I was hoping to meet you in person and see the band sometime. Best of luck to you in the future. If you are ever back in the area give us a shout. —Woody D |

Hey Woody and Paul, Yeah, it wasn't my intention to ever leave VA, but things change when babies are born and you don't have any family around. —Matt "tha Kat" Lentz |

Sadly Matt's back on the Left Coast; we've been trying to recreate him, but the DNA sample we got off the coke can wasn't good enough to do the trick. Meanwhile, the Mandrakes are shy a lead guitarist, but we'll see if we can't recruit someone who'd want to take it up. —Bass with www.groupcaptainandthemandrakes.com |

That's where everyone went wrong. You shouldn't have relied on a DNA sample; even if cloning had worked, the baby would require a long time to learn play guitar as well as Matt. But if Matt had traveled back to Arizona using a matter transporter, you'd have a complete copy of him in the buffer. You could just rematerialize Matt back in Virginia. That would work out well all around. There'd be two Matts! His new school would still have an excellent teacher and you'd still have an excellent lead guitarist. Maybe The Tomorrowmen could help? Seriously, I hope you find someone as good as Matt! —This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got. Last edited: Jan 28, 2014 13:03:31 |

Dang. That's right. I'd have had a baby Matt...another 20 years of sitting around waiting to gig this band. Bass with www.groupcaptainandthemandrakes.com |

You don't know how much I miss VA!!!! There are a few guitarists up in the Fred area. I was working with a bluegrass guy named Doug who was in a surf band out here in AZ before moving back to VA. His girlfriend's email is bluegrass4me2@yahoo.com —Matt "tha Kat" Lentz |

Matt, Do you guys have gigs scheduled? |

Nothing scheduled with the Coconauts. I'm trying to start a new combo up as well. Nothing could compare to the Mandrakes, though. —Matt "tha Kat" Lentz |

Too bad you're 100 miles away! :o) I'm trying to put together a 3 piece here in PV with Dwight (drummer who sat in with you guys last year) and the other guitarist from our blues band on bass. |

We're very enthusiastic about him; hopefully he'll be able to squeeze us in; he's going to grad school and host of other things that compete for his time though. —Bass with www.groupcaptainandthemandrakes.com |

At least he's not 2000 miles away! Have you thought any more of recording something? I'd be happy to lay down some tracks for the songs we played. By the way, I really miss all those songs we played. —Matt "tha Kat" Lentz |

Ah, those are classics! The new guy does do Penetration and Out of Limits, so we're adding those in. —Bass with www.groupcaptainandthemandrakes.com |
