That is too kool . John can really play. Where the hell is he anyway?

John played at the Surf Museum this past Sunday. He played an awesome Paradise Cove.

Has any body got the tabs for Rik A Tik by the lively ones if so could you let me know how to get a copy to my email richardneal40@hotmail.com

Rik-A-Tik was originally done by the Fireballs, and you may want to check out that version too.

This is killer. John Benton is such an amazing player, and a super cool guy to boot! His sound is spot on.

You do a damn fine version of Rik-A-Tik yourself Matt! I learned it by ear & combined elements of both The Fireballs & The Lively Ones. I play it every day. It's such a fun song to play.

Thanks, Bob! We haven't played it in the new band...yet. That seems to be a song that all of the bands I've ever been in want to play. I learned how to play the Lively Ones' version way back when, but "discovered" the Fireballs' original when I inherited my dad's record collection in the early 1990s. When I met George Tomsco for the first time in 1998, he taught me the song, note for note, as he said I was playing it incorrectly. Smile The patterns are relatively easy; it's the picking/palm-muting that makes that song so damned tricky!

I found this incomplete video by Matt. And a demo also on YouTube. I hope these help. I'm really curious what the differences are from the original Fireballs?

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Noel, that's George Tomsco playing my Jazzmaster on stage! The real difference is reverb and the picking/muting. The Lively Ones' version is much easier to play as well.

Would that be the one he signed?

Yes, the one and only George Tomsco signature model Jazzmaster. Smile

Here's our version of "Rik A Tik". Somebody came up to me right in the middle of the song and started jabberin' about somethin' and Pete our drummer turned it into a Rap comedy. Lol

Ok, that was both well-played and I LMAO (been there) on the "reguest" - nice captions.
Heck I'm still laughing. Great overall sound, by the way. Thanks for sharing. Will check out the rest of your stuff.

I think he was one of the coordinators of the event, but his timing was impeccable. It's like, hey Bro, I'm a little busy at the moment! Lol
