Hello, new to the forum and surf but staring to get going, I don't know what you officially call these songs but interested in getting a list together so when people say "don't you sing?", I can pull out a song like Stoked or Tequila, I,m sure there are more of them out there but I'm not familiar with them. Thanks for any suggestions.

Welcome, Noreaster. Bonus points for your first post being about surf music and a quarter point deduction for going straight to vocals. (Just jiving ya! Vocals have their place here too. Exhibit A.)
You're right, there are many shout outs. This one comes to mind... granted it may not be suitable for all venues.

My band The Nematoads play an original song called Bandera! during which we exclaim, "Bandera!"

Hi Noreaster. Welcome to sg101. Very glad you're here. Great question.
Your audiences might enjoy Moon Dawg and Church Key. Mike Brown, The Man From RavCon, has a great song that's in this vein, called Flip Flop.

The Chantays, "Move It" - this is made for a wedding reception where all the lovely ladies have already had their 2nd or 3rd round, cake is cut, and all the shoes start to come off... if you can't make that work, probably should pack up.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. Have a good excuse to check out all these songs now. I'm definitely putting together an all "shout out" set. I remembered a few once I saw them listed "Let's Go" for example. But I'm a bit too young to have heard a lot of the classics and a bit too late in coming to the party to be familiar with the newer stuff.
