Hi,
in Oct. the 26th of this year I had the big luck to play together with Curlee Wurlee (my 2nd band, which I left meanwhile…) at the Vollanalog Festival in Maastricht, Netherlands. Another band on the bill this evening was the faaaaaaaantastic FIFTY FOOT COMBO! Whoooohhooooooo!!!!
This was a great evening! I was more than happy!
I remembered there are a lot of people here at SG101 who like them also a lot and would love to see them live. So I did a few videos for you.
Here is the first. ( I have 4 more, very good!)

You can see there was a huge crowd! Very good! More and more people came for dancing, drinking and shaking. More and more nice girls everywhere, especially in front of the stage. The Fifty Foot Combo played a good variety of several albums. Good setlist with groovy organ surf songs, hard surf songs, their unique exotica style, the cool Bongo player. Cool stage action! It is always hard to display the real energy of a band in a crappy video. And the Fifty Foot Combo had a LOT of this genius live intensity!

Neither song on YouTube from this show is very surfy, but they sound very good and it's really nice to know they're still playing on occasion! May this lead to more activity in the future. (I'm attaching the two videos below.)

We were posting at exactly the same minute! Mine a few seconds earlier.
Yes for sure they were and are not typical surf as you mentioned. And this is definitely no trad surf. But a must for every surf music fan.
The last song they played was a very cool vocal. "Alligator". Very good intensive song!!! Video soon!
