Nice demo Andreu, and with some tasteful fuzz no less! This does look especially fun with a looper around.

New Bass VI Day! Just picked up my new Bass VI from my favorite local guitar shop. Man, I am digging it...plays like a champ...can't wait to get her on a gig.

Congratulations, Ernest! What are you planning to play on it?

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Hey Noel...
King Pelican has several original songs that feature a Bass VI. I had the great fortune to record with an original mid 60s Fender Bass VI in the studio. Our other guitar player has a Fender Custom Shop Bass VI so he has been covering those parts. But now I'm in the game with a Bass VI too!

We do Besame Mucho in our sets, so now I plan to use the Bass VI on that tune ala Jet Harris.

Besame Mucho is one of my favorite songs, though I happily admit my fondness for it dates to Dale Evans' version in her first film with Roy Rogers, The Cowboy and the Senorita. I'm definitely gonna look up your version for sure.

I'm jealous of all of you guys. I'm tempted to put my Dano Dead On 67 Baritone on the market...

If you do, I'm sure a few folks here will line up to buy it. Wow! But wouldn't you really rather have both? I don't find my B-B baritone Strat and E-E Bass VI overlap as much as I thought they would. Just a thought.

Don't know if I could justify the space both would take up. It's getting crowded in here!

Mike, Space never stopped me, LOL!
I'd love to hear one of these used in some of your compositions, you'd put it to good use for sure.
I'm actually looking into one as well.

Mike and Jeff, FWIW, I'm already anticipating and want to hear what you compose for Bass VI and put on your records.

And that goes for everyone else out there is surfland that gets one of these amazing guitars!

Ok...tried the Squier VI, and I've decided it's not a good fit for me.

What don't you like about the VI? Just wondering. I play some bass and think it's kinda cool for some things and it has a bunch of sounds (semi baritone)that I can use for surf that are stimulating my mind to write more.

With a little practice I was able to fingerpick it like my P bass or like a 6-string guitar. My VI is a MIJ but from the reports I've seen the Squire is a very nice instrument after a set up.

You seemed so jazzed about it in your previous post I just wonder what changed.

Keep it Drippy Brothers and Sisters!

I'm a big fan of the Fender Bass VI and have been lucky enough to have played a vintage Fender VI as well as a custom shop VI. The Squier is a fine guitar. Just ignore my last post.

So, you're keeping it?

Yes Noel,I'm keeping her. I think I just came to the realization a day or two ago, that even though this guitar is "fit and finished" nicely it still is a Squier and is going to need some work and $$ to get her gig ready.

But, it's all good.

I played one in Sam Ash recently but the neck was badly bowed so I was unable to come to a determination as to whether it was any good. I don't know if this is more of a Sam Ash issue or a Squire quality control issue.
Your thoughts?

Eric

The BassVI probably needed a proper setup!

Every word is like an unecessary stain on silence and nothingness.

I bought a Squier VM Jag. I had to do a bunch of work to it including fret level crown and polish. It also badly needed fret end dress and trussrod adjustment. Good thing I do this type of work myself.

It's great now.

Keep it Drippy Brothers and Sisters!
