Does anyone know which fret wire is on the AV62 Jaguar Reissue? 6230 or 6105?
I need to know it because I want them on my strat which is currently using uncomfortable jumbo frets. Do you have any recommendation where to buy it?

The American Vintage '65 Jaguar has Fender Vintage Frets.

I think that the same was true for the '62 AV. The Thin Skins had the Narrow Jumbo 6105 frets (tall & thin).

You can buy Fender Vintage Frets on Amazon:

The AVRI 62 was listed as having vintage frets in Fender's specs (back when the 62 was in production.

I was interested in this so I contacted Fender. Here is what they said.

I have the frets on the AVRI 62 Jaguar as .084" wide and .039" tall. That would be very, very close to the Dunlop 6230 fretwire.

Norm
